Did you ever dive into a system with confidence? Then quickly have something go terribly wrong? That happened to me while putting together and launching this blog.
I have launched dozens of blogs on my own over the years. This would be the first one I would attempt to do solo on LexBlog. The site came together quickly and I found our tools easy to use to make a customized blog. Now I am not designer, but I think this thing turned out nicely.
Everything was going smoothly until I went to launch the blog. Naturally, I decided to dive in blindly and things appeared to go fine. In just a few clicks I was able to launch donuts.lexblog. Before I could do anything else though, I got a message from Jared Sulzdorf, our Director of Product. Turns out I had launched this blog and somehow managed to take down Kevin O’Keefe’s blog at the same time.
If it wasn’t so disturbing, it would almost be impressive.
Lucky for me, I have an entire of team who realized something was wrong and had fixed it within minutes. They then proceeded to walk me through what had gone wrong and how it could be avoided in the future. The advice was all sound, today I was able to launch this blog without breaking anything (that I know of).
